CT Open Circuit Protector
Inthe electrical power system, the current transformer is widely used in theprimary measuring and controlling. In regular operation, the secondarymeasuring of the transformer is in the approximately short circuit state andthe output voltage is low. During operation, if the secondary winding isdisconnected or the primary winding is flowed with abnormal current (such aslightning current, over current of resonance, capacitive charging current or inductivestarting current), over voltage in thousands or ten thousands volt will beproduced in the secondary side. This will not only damage insulation of thesecondary system and the transformer, but also endanger workers’ life. Applicationof the over voltage protector of the CTB10-001 current transformer caneffectively prevent accidents caused by open circuit in the secondary side ofthe current transformer.
